With the passion, style and musical sophistication of the best chamber
music and string quartet traditions, the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet (MGQ)
has successfully made its case as one of the world's leading guitar ensembles since its
founding in 1986. The Quartet returns to the Southern Theater for another exciting collaboration
with Flamenco dancer and choreographer Colette Illarde in a new production featuring music by
the great Spanish composer Joaquin Rodrigo. Rounding out the program
are works by Maria Kalaniemi, Peter Maxwell Davies and others.
