Each Southern Theater season, program, and production offers unique opportunities for corporate sponsorship.
Three levels of corporate giving
TOP TIER: Full season sponsor – 35 individual productions; 102 performances
The Southern’s eclectic season offers one of the most exciting schedules of dance, music and theater in the country. From hip-hop dance to ballroom, classical music to indie-rock, physical theater to experimental performance, the consistency is in the world-class quality and pushing-the-envelope nature of the work presented.
TIER TWO: Program sponsor – 4 options

Dance program sponsor – 14 productions; 50 performances
The Southern has long been considered home for innovative and original dance in the Twin Cities. Ballet, contemporary dance and post-modern, ballroom, Bharatanatyam, African, and infusions of every type and shape make up the Southern's vibrant dance season.

Music program sponsor – 13 productions; 26 performances
“The art world’s freshest, most celebrated acts now have a Twin Cities venue every bit as cool as they are,” said
Minnesota Monthly, naming the Southern Theater “Best new-music venue” (2009). From avant-garde to classical chamber, the Southern is fast becoming one of the most important venues for new music in the Midwest, and certainly the most atmospheric.

Theater program sponsor – 5 productions; 24 performances
Theater productions at the Southern Theater are characterized by
their originality and outstanding & unique artistic vision.
These productions exemplify the most exciting, innovative and
modern forms of staging and theatrical storytelling on the local
and national stage. Whether new adaptations, re-imaginings of
the great classics or ground breaking world premiere original
projects, the Southern Theater theatrical programming
exemplifies courageous artistry and provides a home for bold,
visionary theater-makers that strive for a pure and powerful
shared experience between spectator and performer.

Family series sponsor – 4 productions; 5 performances
The family series this season includes the Bunny Clogs’ Halloween costume & dance party for kids, Mu Daiko’s
Taiko Caravan, Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre’s Tra Ti Ti Tran Tran Toro puppet show, and a new holiday tale told by Jon Ferguson Theater.

Sponsorship of Southern Theater programs and events means:

Corporate Entertaining
Corporate partners have access to the Southern Theater for private entertaining events. We can accommodate groups of
10 to 200 for a variety of pre- or post-performance receptions, cocktail parties and more. In addition, artist appearances may be possible on occasion. Our development department can assist corporate sponsors in planning events as well as facilitating catering, rentals, staff support and live entertainment.
The Southern and the corporate partner mutually agree upon special corporate entertaining events at the Southern Theater. We welcome opportunities to discuss and design events for sponsors interested in meeting a variety of objectives.
