Ananya Dance Theatre, a professional ensemble of transnational feminist dance artists, presents the world premiere of PREM | Love: An Occupation. Conceived and choreographed by Ananya Chatterjea, PREM emerges from the recent crisis of federal occupation in the Twin Cities, reaching toward transformation through practices of public love, care, and defiant joy. With ADT's trademark power and percussive urgency, PREM pens a love letter to the Twin Cities’ history of resolute resistance.
ADT is joined in creative alliance by director Dipankar Mukherjee, writer Dr. Nia O. Witherspoon, composer/sound designer Greg Schutte, singer/songwriter Mankwe Ndosi (guest performer), costume designer Annie Cady, scenic designer Mina Kinukawa, video designer Darren Johnson, lighting designer Mike Grogan, and rehearsal associate Alexandra Eady.
